Let sleeping dogs lie

8th September 2011

I'm so dog-gone tired!!!! Why does that kid keep waking me up? It's been 10 weeks since Abigail Flora Pisasale was born and 10 weeks since I last slept through the night. It's hard work being a watch dog 24/7 and I've only managed to run into the office a pawful of times lately.

I bounded into the studio the other day to find the team have been busier than ever working on trade show stands, logos galore, point of sale material and all sorts of other fun things. Thom has just built an awesome flash website (how could it not be awesome when built in an application called flash?), Shayna has been working on a heap of flyers and ads and is really making her mark. Who knows what George is doing but she seems very busy and important all the time.

Everyone was glued to their giant computer screens....but I still managed to steal a pat from the new and wonderful Jess, who is hanging out in the studio on work experience. It's about time someone gave me a little attention! Was thinking that maybe I should work on some new moves like this, but that would involve me learning a new trick and word on the street is that's quite hard for someone of my age to do.

Been loving having Rach at home to play with these past few months but I overheard some chats with George and it sounds like she might return back to Bright Yellow for a day a week as of next month. Wonder if that means I have to babysit the kid? Hope not because then I'll really never get any shut eye.

Anyway, I have to go and make sure everyone is not biting off more than they can chew. And if they do, I hope it's delicious, and I get the leftovers.

Hairy love,
Flashy x

Are we there yet?

30th June 2011

280 days!

Rach has been pregnant for 280 days! You know that if I wanted to, I could pop out a litter of pups and it would only take me 63 days. And they call me lazy....what is that kid doing in there? I've attached some photos of the bump so you can see for youself what 8 days of overdue baby looks like!

But things aren’t ALL baby in my world. I got to go and check up on the Bright Yellow crew the other day and make sure they were still bringing in the bacon. (mmmmmm bacon).

Had a sniff around everyone’s desks (Thom had peanut butter so I lingered around his desk until he gave me some, sucker!) and overall I picked up on a very busy scent. The team are working on a heap of new and exciting projects for clients both old and new. Plus they have just been featured on Design Montage, a creative hub dedicated to showcasing creative talent. There’s an interview with the girls on there plus, more importantly, I get a mention. So reckon you should check it out! Also take a look at Bright Yellow’s brand spanking new business cards that were letterpressed by The Hungry Workshop. They look great....but I am not happy because George told me that I was getting one with “head of security” on it. She lied.

So that’s the latest for now. Let you know when the baby finally decides to come out to play. In the meantime get on down to the Teneriffe Festival this Saturday and say g’day to our very own Thom Stuart who is getting his art on these days at Love Love Studio on Florence Street.

Big licks,
Flash x

New Playmates

16th May 2011

Things at Bright Yellow have been so ‘pee on the floor’ exciting that I haven’t even had time to update my blog! The team have sniffed out two fantastic new designers which have brought a lot of fresh talent, however not much in the way of food and pats for me. I had a word to the directors about it but they just said I was barking up the wrong tree. Typical. You can check them out here.

Rach is getting bigger by the day—it’s either from all of that chocolate she’s not been sharing or she’s pregnant. I’m hoping it’s the former as I’m not sure I’m willing to share my rug with another rug rat.

Lots of furry love,
Flash

things are heating up

23rd February 2011

The new Bright Yellow studio is so hot right now (and I’m not even talking about this crazy heat wave we’re having)!
It’s a colourful collaboration of eclectic happiness. It’s bright, it’s spirited and it’s filled with an energy that bounces off every
wall. There’s loads of space for me to stretch out and I can laze for hours in the sun that streams through the huge windows.

So....now that the studio is all up and pumping, it’s time to add an awesome new member to the BY team. This week I have
the pleasure of meeting and greeting all the potential junior designers. Can’t wait! Just think of all the pats I’m gonna get!

But the brightest news of all is that the girls have donated their creative talent to help raise some much needed funding
for the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal. Joining forces with a heap of Queensland’s best creatives, Bright Yellow will
feature in the Queenslake limited edition letterpress exhibition to be held on Thursday 3 March at Kerbside. Giant licks
go out to The Hungry Workshop for making it all happen.

Here's a sneak peak at the new pad...

on the run

18th January 2011

It's boxes galore here at Bright Yellow headquarters. Is it too much to ask for a little bit of space to stretch my weary legs? Obviously! Because there's not an inch to be found amongst the boxes of paper and books and computer gadgets. It's finally 'M' day here. I wish that M stood for mud playing day but it just stands for moving day. Boring! That's right the team is on the move to a brand new studio with lots of room to swing a cat (man I hope they swing some cats!). Plus, there's a rumour going around that I'll be getting a comfy new day bed. How good! All our new studio details can be found on the contact page. So drop in and say "ello" sometime because it's always pat-o-clock in my world.

OFF TO SEE A MAN ABOUT A DOG

25th November 2010

Jumped in the tub this morning for a quick soak ahead of the final meeting with the real estate regarding a brand new
Bright Yellow office space. Word from the track this week is that the team are relocating to a woofderful new design studio
in Woolloongabba. Which means, in addition to my top notch head of security role, I’ll also be taking on client greetings
and board room entertainment....bet I won’t even get any extra sausage for that either! (cheapskates)

DOG DAYS

19th October 2010

This morning I awoke from a drooly slumber to find the BY Headquarters abuzz with colourful activity, party hats and funny looking yellow flowers that tasted just like plastic. Word from the kennel is that the girls are celebrating a week long birthday spectaculaaaaaaar that all kicked off yesterday with the birth of Bright Yellow Pty Ltd. From what that mutt dog next door tells to me, that means they are now officially a company with shares and directors and chairs and stuff....but enough about that because the only share that interests me is the sharing of the cake that’s being served up today to celebrate Georgie’s birthday. She turned 196 today....she’s soooooo old. (no idea what that means in human years, but in puppy decades that's heaps!)

Digging for Gold

1st October 2010

Hi!

Life has been especially bright this week in the wonderful world of yellow. Although today my nerves are a little shaky following an unexpected landscaping debacle yesterday in which after my stash of delicious bones was very nearly uncovered. But it’s back to business this morning and everything is as it should be....the coffee is brewed, those annoying birds are chirping, the anticipation of couriers to bark at fills me with glee and best of all it’s Friday which means I get to play all weekend long. Ohhhhhh yesssssssssssss.

The girls have been working hard all week and keep going out to play their A Game at business meetings leaving me in charge of the BY Head Quarters. They have some really big jobs on at the moment and so instead of watching my excellent somersault routines, they just ignore me and stare at their screens for hours on end. In between my naps I have been sneaking a peek at some of their creations and noticed that lots of exciting new work is on the go. Don’t tell them, but I’ve been secretly listening in on some of the Director’s meetings and, just between you and me....there is a huge Bright Yellow campaign about to be released into the wild. So put your sunnies on world because life is about to get a whole lot brighter.

Speaking of bright I just noticed that there is an awesome skittle infused streak of colour through the sky which apparently has a pot of gold at the end of it. Looks like it’s coming right out of Pete’s house next door so I am off to sniff out the situation and dig me up some gold....surely that will earn me some sausage points.

Love and sloppy licks

Working Like a dog

30th August 2010

I'm sad to announce that Georgie is away holidaying in Grafton all this week. According to my calcuations this means my pats per day has gone down an alarming 50%!! Also, as if I wasn't already skinny enough, the snack supplies have dramatically decreased too. Times are tough in the Bright Yellow office this week. Let's just hope she sends me a postcard.

On the bright side, I have been promoted to senior graphic designer, and have already managed to catch one mouse. There's also a program named after me, so I'm sure to master it in no time.
